At age seventeen, Jill Faulkner was working as a professional artist in the creative arts industry. Her experience in graphic design and illustration spanning over 25 years.

In 2003, a rainforest walk on Mount Tamborine proved to be a life-changing event — the very next day she relocated from Brisbane. Ten years on she designed her Mountain home. Her art studio & gallery, brushfx, is a colourful and creative hive where she loves to immerse herself, blending traditional artistry with her graphic design skills and using innovative ways of layering and blending colours to create magic.

Recently, paintings of fairies and cute critters called Mimbies (miniature iridescent magical beings) have inspired her to write a storybook called A Place Beyond, a magical and heartfelt fable of a group of Mimbies, fairies and other mythical creatures living in a world beyond the blink of an eye and dusk.
